Walmart is the biggest retailer on the planet. ThredUP bills itself as the largest online thrift store. Now, the two have announced an online partnership that will give consumers access to 750,000 pre-owned women’s and children’s items, accessories, footwear and handbags from thredUP on Walmart’s site.

Investment in alternative protein — both plant-based and cell-based options — was $930 million in the first quarter of 2020, according to the Good Food Institute. Not only is this a record amount of funding, but investment in the first three months of this year exceeds the $824 million invested in the segment in all of 2019 by 11%.

Walmart’s first-quarter earnings report and webcast confirmed many of the trends discussed since the start of the pandemic, including the surge of interest in online grocery.
